About Kehan Li

Professional Qualifications
Kehan Li is an Independent Gemmologist and N A.G. Institute Registered Valuer. She holds the Gemmological Association of Great Britain’s Diploma in Gemmology (2005), Diploma in Gem Diamond (with Distinction 2006) and Advanced Diamond Grading Certificate (2007). She also holds the National Association of Goldsmiths’ Professional Jewellers’ Valuation Diploma (2009) and Fellowship Diploma (2009).

Kehan is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (2005) and a Fellow of the National Association of Goldsmiths (2009). She is a Member of the National Association of Goldsmiths’ Institute of Registered Valuers (2010) and a Member of the Association of Jewellery Historians. She is a Member of the Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers (2010).


Professional Experience
In 2009, Kehan established Loupe Jewellery Valuation and Consultancy, an independent practice that provides valuation and consultancy services to both trade professionals and private clients. She has valued approximately £160 million of gems and jewellery.
She also advises trade professionals and clients including auction houses, jewelers, gem dealers and pawnbrokers by carrying out examination and research on items of particular specialty or rarity.
She has valued many large diamonds, including stones of over 100 carats, colourless and fancy coloured diamonds, gems and extraordinary jewels on behalf of her Middle East and Chinese clients, advising them in buying and investing.
Kehan is an appointed valuer and consultant for Asprey London and her expertise is often required by Tiffany & Co.


Academic Experience
Kehan’s academic experience includes work as a Tutor and Examiner at the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (2006-9) and as the Education Executive for its Far East educational establishments. She also held a lecturing post at the Holts Academy and at Kingston University (2010). As part of her current business she continues to tutor selected private students in gemmology.
In 2011, Kehan was a visiting scholar to the Beijing Geological University and the Palace Museum, where she researched modern and antique jade types, origin, treatment and values.
She has carried out several research trips to China, including field trips to sapphire mines in Shandong province, freshwater cultured-pearl farming facilities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang province, and jadeite jade treatment and production facilities in Shanghai, Guangdong and Hong Kong.
